Somerset County, Hooversville, PA 1999

Reclamation of an abandoned boney pile deep coal mine into wetlands, created an educational, historic, and scientific center. This was a community-based project, done in collaboration with the US Soil Conservation Service and the Environmental Design Class at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. It was funded by the Heinz Foundation, the US Forestry Service, and the Ecco Foundation.
