Southside Pittsburgh, PA 2000
The rails to trails project was a collaboration between the Friends of the Riverfront, the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and the City of Pittsburgh. It’s purpose is to fulfill the potential of Pittsburgh's trails and river fronts. Through its art-enhanced landscape, this project links ecology with the spirit; culture with community; and recreation with education. The installation is comprised of a fifty-foot diameter bony rock circle, several existing dirt mounds with switch grass seedlings, and a fabricated steel bench.
